Where did you honeymoon, or want to honeymoon - a callback is a nice touch.
We had a week away in my parents touring caravan in Bridgewater. My dad towed the caravan down for us and we somehow managed to get our Mini down there, God knows how that survived the journey, however such was the stress of the journey that it did give us both the time and the opportunity to have the first decent row of our married life. As the radio didn't work I'd wired my ghetto blaster into the Minis electrics and we had a few tapes to listen to, at the point that we were screaming at each other our wedding song came on, so that was a nice touch.
The Mini, the caravan and the campsite have all gone off to that great honeymoon in the sky now, so it may be a little difficult to recreate.

Dubrovnik. Try BA holidays for a package
Thank you, I've had a look, it looks stunning and there are flights from Bristol, not with BA though. That'd need a trip to London and that puts a wedge of time onto the journey for us. However I think, from what I've looked at so far it may be a bit pricey although it's not out of the running just yet.
Marrakech.... can't be beaten.
As above really, I've looked at Marrakech for a winter sun break and fully intend getting there one day, but from what I've looked at so far it may be a bit more money than I'm looking at for a quick break.

Berlin, Prague, Seville, Lisbon abd Poland + all the UK suggestions will all be looked at more closely.
How do you jet setters get on with the language? I've a smattering of French, just enough to make myself understood without them laughing directly in my face and English I can usually manage too.

English generally fine. The only place I've struggled is Madrid, Barcelona ok though

Seville is always expensive to get to, few direct flights at useful times and that's from London

Tail End Charlie

Well, write it down boy ......
Budapest is super, loads of things to see, Boris Bikes to hire, metro if you don't, eating out is cheap (or was two years ago). Many of the sights are Cold War related, which makes for a different vibe, we spent a week there and loved it.

Depending on where you live in the uk, a good one is to leave the car in Hull, Hull - Zeebrugge ferry and then cycle from Zeebrugge to Bruge and spend a few days there. Suitable for complete beginners as it is almost all along canal towpaths and about 25kms.
Alternatively, Berlin as someone else suggested - so much to see and do, a lovely relaxed atmosphere and great public transport for getting around. I always use Airbnb for accommodation - been doing it for several years and never had a bad one.

Most Berliners speak English and most restauraunts have Englush menus.
A few basic words of the lingo is always appreciated where ever you go.

It's probably worth pointing out that cycling would not be on the menu
Well, I suppose I could go on my own

Oops - just seen you are in Bristol. You don't want to be driving to Hull then!

Shame - though it's worth me pointing out that hiring a bike in Bruge and cycling to Zeebrugge and back several years ago was the first time I had been on a bike for about 10 years!

Given the dietary requirements it might be best to stay in the UK - less chance of a language barrier misunderstanding.

Lots of good suggestions already made.

You are reasonably handy for London from a transport point of view.

Perhaps not very relaxing, but there are points of interest literally every few yards in the central area.

And you could always clear off to somewhere such as Kew Gardens or Hampton Court if you fancied a quieter day or half-day.

Yes London is on the list too, and dietary requirements are a big consideration.
