Given the silence, & pedestrians looking the direction vehicles should be approaching from
It's the first highlighted paragraph that worries me*

* It is mentioned further down the article, that they may be allowed into a specially constructed lane, against the flow of normal one-way traffic
I wonder if the other lanes will be narrowed/reduced in numbers/bike-lanes procured/pavements narrowed??

Don't want this cake. It's rotten, pushing city-dwellers' pollution out to countryside electricity generating stations.

Also, they failed to except cycles from one-way restrictions in the new Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions, so why are they going to do it for electric cars?

If every city dweller moved to the country it would be an ecological disaster.

"[The study] found per capita greenhouse gas emissions for a Londoner in 2004 were the equivalent of 6.2 tonnes of CO2, compared with 11.19 for the UK average."

Plus a lot of electric cars can be powered from nuclear power or renewable sources.

Even more worrying...and this is in Holland:ohmy:

How you should not test a self driving bus.....on a cycle path. From David Hembrows excellent blog (scroll down). This is real and frankly just stupid. If I came across one of these, I'd like to run over the twit who thought of it.

Well, that's taking it one further than the UK, where self-driving cars are being tested on cycle tracks in Greenwich and Milton Keynes IIRC https://www.cyclechat.net/posts/4509341
