Panter

Just call me Chris...
I lent one of my road bikes to a friend of mine recently, he's got into mountain biking and was going to do his first ever road ride so I lent him my SCR 3.0
I must admit I was a little nervous, I'm no lightweight but he's 23.5 Stone.
Although, saying that, I've done thousands of miles on it, over rough, potholed roads so I was confident it would be fine.

Anyway, he texted me last night to apologise, but he wouldn't be able to return the bike in the same condition it went to him.
Panicking, I thought the forks had cracked but no...

Turns out he'd stripped the bike down, thoroughly cleaned and degreased it, sorted out the gears and brakes and polished every square inch, it looks like a new bike!

It's nice when people appreciate a favour

I must admit my bike maintenance isn't great, but it's not too bad. It was just one of those annoying problems that I kept meaning to get round to, and never actually managed it

I keep offering to lend him my other muddy MTB's, but no luck so far
