I thought the camera footage was going to show something dramatic. I doubt whether the police will do anything if you report the car. They will say your word against theirs'. Your footage doesn't really show them doing anything wrong. The audio isn't that clear making it hard/impossible to follow what is being said and by whom. Sorry.

But as a report of your ride home it clearly happened and these scrotes no doubt made you feel pretty anxious and vulnerable. A-holes.

Doesn't it just have to cause you 'alarm and distress'?

Good section 5 twice on that, as long as you were "alarmed and distressed" by their behaviour. The last pass was certainly close too! Did you feel they intended to cut you up to scare you? Would you recognise the person who shouted at you.
It would appear that they didn't start out as threatening but their behaviour did become so, later on. Make sure you tell the police how frightened you were because of the threatening behaviour towards you and that you had genuine concerns for your safety.

Crankey, the audio isn't good as I was motoring a bit (wind noise get's a bit much on these) - hence the camera bouncing on the rucksack...plus I don't think the lens was terribly clean.

The passes were abit close, but half expected it. Had they continued on up the main road, to a huge traffic jam, then there would have been some serious words, rather than a big "Booo" which seemed to upset them. The lad's attitude certainly did turn sour after the first "whaaaa"..... why..I don't know...?

I'd recognise the passenger again, right ugly lanky runt. It's highly likely I'll catch the driver on his own at some point, stuck in traffic again....hence why you have to be careful.

Purely as devils advocate:

The problem is that Fossyant has responded on several occasions, Also looking at the video they could claim that right at the start you could have pulled up beside the taxi out of their way but didn't. None of the audio is particularly clear so they'll be able claim a light hearted remark was met with abuse from the nasty cyclist and they were provoked, they then wanted to ask what the abuse was for and got more.

also to a non cyclist, filtering and passing close by parked cars whilst traffic is simultaneously passing close by you looks in much the same vein as the last pass by the knobheadmobile.

Had two calls back, second one just now.

Second call heard the story again from me, and they are going to call round and advise him of his 'conduct' - I said that was all I wanted as it's not acceptable for passengers to act in this way, and I certainly wouldn't let passengers do this in my car.

Police agreed and will be paying him a visit. Sorted. Thankyou GMP.

How many times do I have to post this on here? Most Police forces are now using their computers to log reports of bad driving. Just call the non-emergency number and make your report. If the car make and number tally they will log it; the next time that car is seen by a patrol car equipped with ANPR the bell will ring and they will get stopped for a chat. More than three independent reports and they get a visit.

We have dealt with an habitual speeder in our street this way.

All cyclists should have the number in their 'phones. For Manchester it's 0161 872 5050 and for Lancs it's 0845 1 25 35 45

That's the number. They were very helpful and all dealt with. As RR says, this is all you need, hence no door kicking, wind mirror removal etc. Just a visit from the Police.

When I was in my 20s and a rather less, er, mature driver than I am now, a visit from the Police would have caused me to crap myself.

That's all very useful if the phone is answered. Having tried it on the equivalent number down here in Norfolk, it's an entirely useless thing to do as the call is ignored.

What about very bad (dangerous) bus drivers?

Im not happy with reporting to the bus depot even though I could find out quite easily which depot the bus is from.I didn't need that idiot last night as I had just finished a 7even day stint.

Nice one fossy.
