Q. And have they yet provided him with the wherewithal to replace his bicycle?

A. Not yet, it seems, as this interim payment has yet to make it to his bank account. Indeed, if the solicitors sent it to the wrong address and he's continued to incur travel expenses because he hasn't received it then the solicitor is liable for their fluff up.

So how else does he get to work now his means of transport has been damaged?
I've learnt that for anything to happen in such cases you actually have to be proactive yourself at times.

It'll likely now be down to him and his solicitors to present the information to the other side /argue in court. Going to be more complex if they didn't tell him about mitigating costs etc in the original paperwork he signed...or if it did and he didn't read it

Yes, as said, he could make a complaint about his solictor's conduct. Hopefully, he has voiced his dissatisfaction with the partner in charge of his case previously and kept a record

Making a complaint
In the first instance you should complain directly to your solicitor about the poor service or bill that you have received. All solicitors have a procedure for handling complaints.

If you've complained to your solicitor and you aren't satisfied with their response, you should contact the Legal Ombudsman on 0300 555 0333, who can help to resolve your complaint for you.

I don't know who the OP is using, whether self found or through BC/CUK/LCC?
