I have never done this before, but I wish to share with you all my experiences with Acycles so hopefully the members on CC can avoid the experience that I had!

I was due to start my LEJOG attempt on the 10th August and I required some side loading water bottle cages as I was using a frame bag that made taking my water bottles out of my existing water bottles a difficult task. My LBS had none, and none of the online retailors had ones that I wanted, but I managed to find some that fitted my requirements via a company called Acycles. I called Acycles on the 3rd August and informed them this was a time sensitive order and I required the items by no later than the 9th August. I was advised to pay for express delivery and they would guarantee my order would arrive to me no later the 6th August as this was a 2-3 day delivery service. I paid for the express delivery and completed my order there and then.

On the 7th August the items still had not arrived, my Acycles online account showed my order as still being ‘processed’. I called Acycles who advised me that the courier had ‘lost my parcel’. The advisor was very short with my and offered to resend the items or provide me with a refund. I advised due to it being a time sensitive order that I wished for a refund as they would not send out ‘the new parcel’ using a next day delivery service. After the telephone call I became a bit cynical that my parcel had not been sent due to what my online account was showing, and their attitude during the telephone call. I therefore I emailed Acycles to request the tracking number for the parcel, Acycles refused to provide me with the tracking number which shocked me. I have since requested this several times, and each time, Acycles refuse to provide it to me.

I received notification on the 9th August from Aycles that they had dispatch my items, I couldn’t believe it!! I contacted Acycles and advised I had already agreed to a refund on the 7th August. They told me to post the items back to them and they would refund me the cost of my order, however they would not refund me the cost of returning the item. I advised them that my order had not reached me until the 14th August which was 5 days from the date they despatched the items on the 9th and I wished a refund for express delivery that I had paid. Acycles again refused to refund me for the extra delivery costs that I had paid, despite them quoting 2-3 days delivery for their express delivery service.

I understand that problems do arise, but a company shows its worth on how it deals with resolving problems. Acycles for me only added to their initial problem by resending out the parcel (I still do not believe they sent the original parcel by refusing to provide me with the tracking details) and their refusal to compensate me for paying for a service (2-3 day delivery) which I did not receive is appalling customer service in my opinion.

Does anyone else have any experience with Acycles? I for one, will never be shopping with them again.

Seems you're not alone

Personally, I don't use overseas online retailers. Not least as returns are too much aggro

I was not aware they were overseas when I ordered - I was just happy to find a product that matched my requirement after my initial searches proved unsuccessful.

Lesson has definitely be learnt. Fortunately it has not been a costly one as it appears to have been with the OP in the forum you have linked. I am just incredibly frustrated with the lack of customer care/service from Acycles and their inability to see that I paid for a service which I did not get, in addition to their point blank refusal to provide me with a tracking number for the parcel they allegedly posted!

I took a risk last November. I bought a pair of wheels @£600 and £100 cheaper than anywhere in the U.K.
It was November and I didn't expect anything until nearer Xmas. I was over the moon when they turned up 2week after ordering. I don't check emails often but when I looked there was an email with order details and tracking code.
So for me I'd give them 5*
But I get your drift, sounds like they never put your order on express and just left it to roll out as standard or maybe they where waiting on stock themselves??

I think they had the stock @macky but for whatever reason I believe my order was originally missed and therefore it was not dispatched. I believe this as my online account still showing my order as being 'processed' - this changed to dispatched after the 9th August when they sent the 'second' parcel. I therefore believed they then tried to cover their tracks for their mistake by apportioning blame onto the courier and this is why I believe they are not willing to provide me with the tracking number. If at this point, I received my refund as agreed I could accept the mistake/issue, but they didn't and created further issues for me.

As I said before, I can accept the fact my order was not received within the specified time range, but I cannot accept how the have dealt with sending out the order after we agreed for a refund, their refusal to provide me with the tracking details for the initial parcel they claim to have sent, and their refusal to see that I have paid for a service that I clearly did not receive.

Looking at my online account I did purchase some compression socks from them around a year prior to this order. That order like yours without any issues.

They're in France given their return address

Their prices clearly look like they are converted from another currency
