At least *try* pumping them up...you'll be amazed what a difference it makes. (Go from 30 to 55 and you'll probably get as much improvement in performance as you would by paying twice as much for your bike - seriously.) THEY WON'T BLOW UP! Honest.

If you're riding on the road then you want the tyres are hard as possible. Take them up to the maximum pressure.

I'm too heavy to run my tyres at 30psi. The rim would strike the ground whenever I hit a bump / pot-hole.
