I had no idea that grapes were poisonous to dogs.
I was going to chop some up and throw them out for the birds until my daughter, who has 2 small dogs, told me that. TBH I thought she must be wrong so googled it......sure enough she is correct.

Growing up, my parents didn't know this either. our Jack Russell cross was fed everything under the sun. Grapes, chocolate, fruit etc. He never was ill, but probably just down to luck

I think it six of one and half a dozen of the other. Helicopters can’t safely operate above 21,000 feet so the bodies have to moved down the mountain. So working at that height is extremely dangerous because just being up there has lead to the deaths in first place.
So you need very experienced mountaineers or guides to remove the bodies which as you say is very costly as most of them could be earning good money guiding, as for the cost of helicopeters.

I would have thought getting the bodies down would be the easy part. A portable inflation device and a zorb ball should do it. One small push and gravity does the rest. It's not like they are going to be any more dead.

There is a thing about doing this in a dignified way as these people often have grieving relatives. There is also a thing apparently where people have requested if they die on the mountain they be left there.
The authorities are apparently ignoring this.
