advice on a merida lite 93

hi I am looking at getting a merida lite 93 and I was wondering if anybody on here had one and what they thought of it?

cheers for the reply matt, I know they have moved in to pro cycling so they must know how to make road bikes to. my lbs stocks them and i have seen a good few around the area but was hoping to hear from some owners, cheers for letting me know how you find merida

I don't own one but merida is a very large manufacturer.

This from wikepedia so read with some caution:
In 2001, Merida bought 49% of Specialized for a reported US$30 million, although its CEO and founder Mike Sinyard remained majority owner

A Shop near me sells them and I have had a look over them and they appear fairly good spec for the money, having said that now that Merida supply the Lampre team bikes the prices have escalated a little.

I find all this quite interesting as niche manufacturers are now biting at the ankles of the likes of Trek and Specialised. Ribble, Planet X, Moda, Rose etc are now producing some decent good quality well specced bikes for a lot less than the traditional Spesh/Trek.

Hopefully more competition can start to bring the costs of all brands down.

cheers for the info buddy, that helps. I've been looking at there prices for a while but haven't noticed the prices change. I will decide soon but I don't think I will have any problems going with merida

Ive riden the 75 and the frame was quite nice. Dont know if its based on a similar model. It was quite upright, but it was comfortable. Wheels and brakes were hit and miss. Minor upgrades at some other point though.
