Were they a good price? Why not just sell them on here through the classifieds including P&P, save the hassle? I am sure decent bars at a good price will sell easily

And leave negative feedback on fleabay

That's a massive difference. 42cm outside to outside, usually equate to 40cm c to c. But a 38....

You might have been in trouble with the 42 outside as that's a 40 and would have been your mistake, but a 38 is very different.

That's what I thought. I'd have had to hold my hands up for a 40 but 38 is ridiculous.

Just thinking about it. If the bars are 38 c-c on the hoods, and flare to the drops, does that not make them 42 o-o on the drops?

I remember not buying certain bars because of the flaring making them too narrow on the tops.

No, the 3T measurements are taken from the drops so the 38 c-c is at the widest point. The widest outside to outside measurement on the bars is 40.5. Hoods C - C you're talking 37

No, I've measured them at every possible point! Widest outside to outside measurement on the whole bars is 40.5.

EDIT - apologies - I didn't see that was addressed to Fossy. I think he's going off standard 31.6 diameter bars - which these are.

Not bad but I have a feeling that they'll be tricky to get rid of. They're an alloy bar, albeit lightweight and good quality, bought for a winter bike, and in a size only suitable for ladies and very small chaps.

Give it a go while trying to resolve. I got scammed on fleabay, it wasn't much but they nor paypal did f'all

£25 plus £6 postage. - it's more the principle and the hassle than the cost.

I've got a new stem and bar tape ready and was going to set up the winter bike this week. I now have to start the bar search again.

Could you post a pic?. I might need some narrow bars for the OH's new bike. Might being the operative word and you'd have to wait a week or more as I haven't picked up the bike and set it up yet.

When you open a case on eBay it automatically stops the money in PayPal from going to the seller.

I wonder if he measured them with bar tape on , my bars are 42 cm C-C but measure 46 cm over to over counting bar tape so a 38 cm C-C would measure 42cm with the same type of bar tape !
