So those that are healthy is due to him and those that are not are nothing to do with him? How does he determine who's on the list?
That doesn't answer the question though does it? You're placing the criteria of something being scientifically provable to be believed. Clearly, as some things that aren't scientifically provable are believed by some people, that criterion cannot be the only review method.
Gravity.

we know its there, we believe it will work, we believe we know its effect, we can even measure its strength...but know one (trust me I've tried) can actually tell you what it is ...and prove it...at some point or another all scientists will revert to theoretical physics to explain it.

We have every right to mock other people's beliefs and they have every right to mock ours.

Anyway, if this God exists, who created him and why did he bother creating us?
Why do we have that right? Mock someone's choice of bike or dress sense but why mock people's belief? Disagree even argue but why mock? What's the point of being on a forum if we can't respect each other?

"Bloody hell, who's the little sod what done that?"

"Oh no, she ain't bin wiv no one, she ain't like that you know. It were God, wunnit? 'E came down and give her one like, you know, cos "e wanted a son to save us and all that."

"'Ere, the lucky cow, wish our Tracey add been shagged by God instead of that little sod Wayne, 'e ain't paid no maintenance and he's give her a dose as well. Wot you gonna do now, anyway?"

"Better start some sort of religion I 'spose, you know build churches and tell people they'll go to Heaven if they believe him wivout question but they'll burn in Hell if they don't".

That's the sort of rubbish I had rammed down my throat at school when they tried to bring me up as a Catholic. It may not be as bad as telling me I'd have 72 virgins awaiting me in Paradise if I blew myself up in the middle of a supermarket but it's just as ridiculous.

Ascribing agency for natural phenomena to supernatural forces helped early humans to rationalise the world as they experienced it, but as human understanding has developed over the past 5,000 years, the need for a belief in supernatural forces has become more distant from our daily lives.

I doubt anyone these days truly believes there is an old beardy bloke sitting on a cloud judging us all and sending down thunderbolts to smite sinners, but our understanding of the universe is still limited to what science can explain, which is why we still need God to exist. It's unlikely that we will ever fully comprehend the workings of the universe but if you can come to terms with that, the need vanishes.

Yup. This is where these sorts of discussions eventually end up. I've got Christian and spiritualist friends and IME, it's best to just respect each others beliefs (or lack of) rather then feel the need to explain why we think the way we do ...unless of course you're one of those Dawkin's inspired neo-atheists who feels the need to convert believers wherever they find them, or are on a Mission to convert non-believers to whatever faith you subscribe to. Thankfully, most people are neither of those

Science does not conflict with the bible, the conflict (as I see it) arrises from a fundamental miss-understanding the purpose of the bible.

The bible itself is not a single book, but rather a library of books and not all of these books are historical accounts. Some books are historical accounts, but others contain music, poetry, rules, advice, news, predictions, messages and stories etc. The only thing that links these books is that they all tell a truth about God.

Genesis for example falls into the category of a story book that tells how God created everything and how mankind then turned away from God. Genesis was never intended to be more than a story book and it was certainly never intended to give a historical account with timescales etc. So whether or not you believe in an almighty greater, Genesis has no bearing whatsoever on scientific theories about the universe coming into being and how things subsequently developed and evolved over millions of years.

Do you want to tell that to the creationists in the USA who ban the teaching of evolution.
