Neither, just buy the required male or female in 1/4" BSP or NPT to fit your compressor hose fittings.

If you are doing lots of work in awkward places consider a flexi head to allow the hose to rotate

Think I’ll be ok for bendy head. I might buy one of those metal mini ones too. I need two really to save time changing tool with those little spanner’s. I need one with wire brush head tool to de scale & one with tungsten carbide metal grinder tool.

I had to fit an NPT male pressure gauge into a brass fitting last week and learned that NPT and BSP threads of the same size are not universally interchangeable.
