Having (ahem) sampled it, I'm not so sure that the feeling of Gemuetlichkeit can be so readily isolated from the drink itself...

Researching carefully I see that TC's gemuetlich drink is a speciality of Tuebingen. My parents spent several years as students in Tuebingen. They brought back a load of Christmas traditions - straw stars, tinkly angel chimes made out of wood that singed, candles on the Christmas tree. Yet they didn't bring back that one. Curses.

We've had the ruddy "Dry January" e-mails flooding into our inboxes at work over the past week or so......I have managed to create a rule so that they go straight into my Deleted Items and made a point of having a pint on New Years Day to fail it on day 1.

Health and Wellbeing team in the NHS......what a waste of a salary!!
