Aldi's wine range is being reduced from about 250 lines 3 years ago to about 140 this summer. Has anyone noticed this and do you care?

Some to try, which may or may not, be new:

WHITE
Specially Selected Rias Baixas Albariño £8.99
Pierre Jaurant Le Petit poulet White £6.49 *
Cambalala South African Sauvignon Blanc £5.99 **

RED
Chassaux et Fils Costieres de Nimes £6.39
Baron Amarillo Rioja Joven £5.19

If you try any of these, please report back with your findings!

* this is Aldi's take on 'the chicken wine' available from other supermarkets, aka La Vieille Ferme
** make sure you get this, not the differently labelled but similarly named, as it has some of the alcohol stripped out (and is therefore cheaper) !!

We get through a lot of Aldi Cote de Rhône. We used to live in the region and this is similar quality to the blended offerings we would buy in our 5 L jerrycan. £5.25 a bottle is very good value in the UK.
