Alfine downshift spring weak.

My 2008 vintage Alfine 8 has not been shifting into lower gears. I can force a shift by rotating the cassette arm part where the cable fixes, with a screwdriver.
I have cleaned out the internals with GT spray and given an oil bath so it is not sticky lube. It is probably the return spring.
Can this spring be replaced? Has anyone done it.
Is is just a replacement of all the internals ?

Can I even get the spare part ?
I think I might have to spend the £150ish on new internal and then look at fixing it at my leisure.

If you search on you tube the spring can get missaligned and just require fettling

Yes, I rebuild my wife's internal Alfine gears a few years ago. It's definitely possible to fix.
