All Inclusive 2 Week Break -Weight gain

Didn't go hugely mad on the food. More guilty on the Booze mind you. No major exercise either, aside from the swimming up to the pool bar.

8 pound gain in weight. I guess that's not too bad at 5% gain. Doh!

Anyone able to trump that?

No I stayed the same. The only way was to drasticly cut carbs in food. Drank plenty of beer but dropped pasta and bread and potatoes. Lots of Meat, veg and fruit (Yes carbs in fruit)!. First time ever but didn't need extra weight as still trying to drop post broken spine weight gain.

We did a seven day road trip from San Francisco to Vancouver ten years ago. Just bimbling up the coast road, listening to rock music, staying in cheap motels and eating in diners. We got out of the car to take in the scenery once in a while, but nothing too strenuous. I've always been about 74 kg. In those seven days, I gained 6kg.

2 weeks off the bike with sensible eating and I still put in about 5 llbs,the worst but is Loss of fitness.
Reading about he affects of a break from riding made depressing reading when you see that you can loose 20% of your v02 max

We're on an island without a car. We walked a few miles yesterday and I swam around 1/3 of a mile. Looks like a similar day today! Not all inclusive though.

I put on 3 - 4lb every time I go away for a week....... and then spend the following 2 weeks losing it.
I go away a lot.:sad:

Since hitting 40 any blip in training or weight loss sets me back a long way.
My job is very physical and my appetite leans towards everything know to mankind that is bad for you but tastes good.
I try to weigh once a week and if I'm over 6 pound gain I'll do something drastic to get back on track.

That's a hell of a lot of loss of fitness. I'm just back from 2 weeks hols, no cycling. Some swimming but not much. Fitness doesn't seem to have suffered too much based on climbing numbers

I put on 3-4lbs. Alcohol every day, eating out almost every day. But no snacks except a few ice creams. Maybe that was the offset
