Didn't feel too great this morning but thought nothing of it, it's that time of year for coughs and colds.
At about 6Km into my ride up a long drag, which was a little more challenging this morning due to the head wind and rain, I started to feel abit weird. As I reached the top of the drag I had the desperate urge to puke my guts up, I immediately pulled over. After a minute or two the urge to puke lessened but I felt weak as a kitten. I would usually have another 18 to 24 Km to ride but decided on taking the most direct route possible which was just another 13Km, all into the wind.
So dropped a gear or two and took it easy, I was so lethargic I even used the cycle path instead of the road for part of the journey.
Lots of cups of tea and a couple of paracetamol will hopefully sort me out before lunch, but will be taking it easy for the rest of the day.

Weather here is rubbish; haven't had the bike out all week

Had to resort to the Treadmill for exersise - Not good

Need to pull my finger out & buy a Turbo Trainer I think... Better than no riding at all IMHO!

I've been teetering on being properly ill for the last few days. I've persevered with cycling in to work in an effort to 'sweat out' the cold and it seems to have worked. I've got a long drive tomorrow from Doncaster to Plymouth tomorrow, and an uber early start of 03.30 instead of my usual 07.30 start time. I was going to dig out the motorbike until everyone at work said "Suppose you'll not be cycling in tomorrow". Cycling it is then!

I'm not ill, a little bit of a cold but nothing I would worry about. Unfortunately the Mrs. is not very well so today I have been volunteered:gun: to drop off/pick up our eldest daughter from pre-school which means using the motorised shopping trolley(car) so I do not arrive at work too late:thumbsdown: .
No pre-school tomorrow so back on two wheels:thumbsup: .

Same here, wife ill at moment so presumed I was coming down with a cold last night. Windy as f' and at some points struggling to get above 10mph (lots of swearing at the wind), when I looked at my average speed when I got home was suprised to see it was at 15mph and slightly above my average of 14.5mph. This was probable due to me covering the last 3 miles of my ride in just over 7minutes (or 25mph).

Yep In the Car today first for me this year simply too dangerous. Im pretty hard wearing would take a lot to keep me off the bike even the adverse weather or illness but its the danger thats attached to the current weather - flying debris, 70mph gusts and to be truthful its the gusts that really cause the issue. Also the biting wind despite the balaclava adds to the torment. Not to mention the fact my footballing career albeit brief didnt do any favours for my knees neither does pushing a bike into 70mph gusts.

Lots of flying debris this morning, including a few roadwork signs that could cause some damage to whatever they hit.
It's quite bad here and only gets worse the further north you go.
