Can't believe the over reactions being touted in this thread for what was was simply a perceived slight.
Sudden braking by the guy in front doesn't help. But sometimes it happens. You have to be able to trust the guys you are riding with, and know how they ride, and they need to know you. Maybe if you rode with them more regularly it would help. Our club runs group riding coaching sessions during the summer months on a traffic free circuit, and this is very helpful. If overlapping wheels touch, the bike behind goes down, the bike in front rides forward. It's the responsibility of the guy behind not to overlap/touch wheels. Feel no guilt @cyberknight.
Clique mentality is inevitable with clubs, whether it's the 'rich Johnnie come latelies' or the 'we were here first' crowds both can be pretty obnoxious in my experience. Some folks join/create clubs out of a sense of community and some out of a sense of superiority. Used to skydive quite a bit and it was exactly the same.Nail on head.
I think this is it , the medium group i used to ride with i know how everyone rides and the fast boys tend to ride a lot closer than im used too, i geuss i have to stick with it .Sudden braking by the guy in front doesn't help.
