thinking of buying either

1) alpkit skehigh 600
2) pipedream 400
3) mountain equipment dreamcatcher 500

does anyone who has experience of the above bags know if the hoods can be pulled tight around your nose totally covering ones eyes? I don't like hoods where it won't go over your face.

plus which is better the skyehigh 600 or the mountain equipment dreamcatcher 500 in terms of room?

i have the pipedream 400 ,and to be honest i've no idea if it does what you ask.but i can tell you it's a great well made sleeping bag ,i know i know i havent used it yet ,but take my word for it ,and there a great company to deal with.'as far as i can make out the skyehigh is a bit wider than the 400.

The PD 400 is out of stock, though the SkyHigh range is back in again according to the email I got the other day - you might need confirmation of this.

Depends on how tall you are surely?

I have the Pipedream 400 and I’m 6ft 1in, I could just about fit in to the bag and tuck my head into the cowl and draw it over my eyes but it wouldn’t all that comfortable.
So if you’re less than my height, probably OK but any taller and you will have a problem.

If you are planning to tour on a bike, bear in mind that both the Skyehigh and the Dreamcatcher are significantly heavier and bulkier than the pipedream 400.
