yup, cross top levers might be great but assuming your bike set up / fit ok then you should be able to use them comfortably without resorting to cross tops.

Something that doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet is that the handlebar on a road bike is narrower which means you may find the steering feels twitchy at first compared to your current bike.

Again it's something you'll get used to and will feel completely natural after a few rides.

works both ways i found steering odd on a flat bar when i rode one.
