Am I the only person who has named their bike?

Betty and Poppy live with me. Claud used to live with me. There was also the Green Bike and the Carlton. The Carlton is sorely missed, the Green bike is not.

I don't think it's a girl thing...

I know an American chap who called his tourer Hell Bitch! Apparently it's named after a horse from a Cormac McCarthy novel. Wonderful name.

I have Roger (the raleigh my pub bike), Freda (the Genesis Flyer fixie), Audrey my Audax bike (a beautiful example of Mr Hewitt's craftsmanship), and Betty my hewitt Cheviot SE named after my Mum whose legacy enabled me to buy her!

My tourer is called Reg (ultragalaxy), my all mountain bike is called Juanita (Ventana X5) , and my hardtail is called Jooly (santa cruz cushtail). I have a two other bikes which don't have names.

Reg is a perfect name for a good, solid, dependable tourer.

Juanita is a mexican with one tooth though

I have named some of my cars and trucks but not my bikes. Maybe I should, perhaps then they would talk to me more.

I never could see it, myself. When I was in the Citroen 2CV club, there was a similar thing with people forever asking me what my car was called. Mine ware always just "the car" or "the van". Or occasionally "the bloody useless pile of cock - bollocking scrap" if they broke down.

I've just not found suitable names yet. One is a Kestrel Evoke roadie, the other a specialised big hit downhill bike. Nothing springs to mind although they are both complete characters...!

The Ventana is called Juanita because she's made in southern california and has a spanish name already.
