I am doing the dining room out and at the same time de-cluttering. I am getting rid of all the CD's & assorted CD racks/towers and was going to also get rid of the hi-fi separates and buy a Bose wireless speaker.

Three things are putting me off, the early 1980's hi-fi I gave away last year without knowing is was worth a fair bit. Plus I don't much like the plastic box that the Bose is, and, I like my wooden cased speakers. Is there a wireless "something" that I can use with the amplifier to pick up the signal from a laptop/tablet that it was getting via being hard wired to a PC?

Not entirley sure if this is what you're looking for, but I use a simple Bluetooth audio receiver (mine cost £5, amazon selection on link below), Plugs into audio jack of hifi (might work with amp if that has audio jack??) and you can transmit form any bluetooth capable device.

:notworthy: Thanks, I didn't want a plastic "thing" no matter how good they are, now I've found I can make the speakers wireless too, happy days!^_^

A friend of mine (actually a former workmate) showed me his new 'Bang and Olufsen' wireless speakers once. I asked him what the cables were "Oh" he said "You have to plug them into the mains"

Mine works a treat, it was a great cheap solution for me when Ilooked into it. I also use it in the car, as the unit in there has an audio in jack too.

When upgrading the 25 year old hifi system, I looked at either buying a DAC (digital to analogue) converter or a CD deck which has Bluetooth,USB and WiFi functionality built in. Settled on the latter as the unit aesthetically looked better on top of the amplifier and becomes the focal point for wife and kids to plug all sorts into, whilst leaving my DUAL turntable in peace.

Ive got this plugged in the amp, works with the laptop, phone, etc. if I can’t be arsed to keep walking all the way to the stereo and back.
