Yesterday I listened to an interview with a guy that walked round the world. Took him 7 years (but he did walk on 7 continents). I don't believe he set any records! https://www.tomturcich.com/

I've followed her since she had about 7k subs on her YouTube, so quite a while now.

I'm actually curious why the hate from some towards her?

Perhaps "hate" is a bit strong, but however you wish to call it, dislike, whatever. What's the basis of it?

I get that she can be a bit quirky. I personally like that. I find her different to other channels. I don't find her boring in the slightest. I've tried checking out some other cycling channels & I just find many of them to be really quite boring. I love the fact that she embraces that she's 'weird' & doesn't try to hide it, as someone who is also a bit 'weird', I'm all for that.

I know she was going on a bit about how she was getting zero punctures with her tyres & now they're getting quite a few. Maybe it's the extra weight? Different surfacing? Weight plus surfacing? I've no idea.

But yeah I'm curious to see what the basis is of some folks negativity towards specifically her.

Mmmmm..... whilst it's certainly been '20+change' for a lot of the time, they've also had a varying degree of headwind for that time. Their last day, with a helpful but not huge tailwind, was nearly 25kph average moving speed.

To me, the interesting aspect is that they are doing repeated very long days, in the 13-14 hour range mostly, but at least once up to 15.5 hours, without apparent issues. Given that they're doing shopping / cleaning / vlogging as well, it's pretty impressive that they are not - again, apparently - suffering much from that as yet. Amy was chased by a Slovakian micro-mutt yesterday: mild drama. Oh, and lifting a 25kg bike over that fallen tree looked less than fun too :-)

Yes, the way they are banging out 13 hour plus days is astonishing. They must be good t riding through pain as I can’t believe they haven’t had sores and general wear and tear. I’d not want to wear Lycra for that long day on day! Great mental strength to match their physical ability. From the short videos they seem to have had a fairly uneventful ride except for more punctures than expected. I’m looking forward to a podcast at some point to add details.

There certainly cracking on with the distance and early starts. They appear to have finished a bit earlier today. Pity Kyle doesn't feature a bit more. Got to respect them for banging out the mileage.
