Indeed, people in England forget there is an entire country north of them!
Sorry to hear that. Yes it never ceases to amuse me that when I refer to the north, I mean THE NORTH..... of Scotland..... But others seem to think I mean Leeds or Manchester or similar.
Mmmmm..... Has it gone then?I think people in Bury were made grumpy when the donut man left the market.
TBH i class people from Preston as southerners
I think of people from Carlisle as Southerners!
I heard someone talking about "going down south" yesterday - he was referring to Glasgow.
I heard a guy in Fife once going on about west coast wussies to someone from Ayr!
I have had to deal with many people from 'oop north recently and I have noticed that people from Barnsley are the nicest, friendliest people to deal with.
Whereas, those people from Bury are rude, ignorant Gits.
Indeed, people in England try to forget there is an entire country north of them!
Hey!Barnsley tykes are ok, Sheffield people are nobbers, but people from Wath are best
but they're all better than lancastrians
I was just given the nod about this thread by a strange man shouting "fight, fight, fight"
Having read your comment above I see this as a direct dig at me!
I think you have a little bit of explaining to do cookiemonster! What have I ever done to you? why do you brandish me as a rude, ignorant Git?
In the same way that bods who live in London are northerners if you happen to come from Brighton.Leeds and Manchester are in the South if you live in the North East.
