Should I be worried?

I can't locate the exact place it's coming from on the Sirrus I've had since April (bought brand new). It happens whether I've got panniers on or not and seems to disappear when I freewheel but that could just be because the whirring sounds drowns it out.

No other symptoms, any ideas?

Hi WW

These noises can be a pain to locate, and they usually only happen when your riding, not standing next to it trying to locate the source.

Have a look here and see if it helps.

Does it only appear while your sitting and peddaling or can you hear it when you stand and pedal?

Is it once a pedal rotation or more infrequent?

Does it only happen when you put a lot of weight on the handlebars?

Easy things to try first are

Clean and lube your chain
lube the jockey wheel pivots
Grease seatpost and saddle rails (under contact points)

Still creaking?

You may need to get the tools out :becool:

Seatpost is usually the culprit.
When your pedaling you are moving the saddle, when freewheeling you are not, So.......

I was thinking that actually because I was reckoning that anything else would surely affect the way the bike's performing and it doesn't seem to be doing anything weird. Hmmmmmmmmmm

Yes the seatpost, i was riding with a creak for a while, had the BB out thinking it was there, eventually found out the seatpost was overtightned ;)
