Depends which coat ... some live on a row of coat hooks, a nice one is hanging up on a proper hanger, there is likely to be one stuffed into a pannier and then the down ones don't hang up on the rack very well - so they are the ones on the knob at the bottom of the stairs. (We have far too many coats in this house).

Without suitable chemicals neither does Fnaar.
