OTH, you are entirely mistaken. Green Hairy cartoon characters jump about in a sinister fashion in all kinds of hidden crevices at the place you share with your "loved ones". Only by spending money on expensive products , whose main ingredient is water, can you protect them from these ghastly "germs". You owe this to your family to protect them from the prospect of imminent death. To deny this is irresponsible.

yes, but i'm bound to get that 0.01% of germs that they don't promise to kill

the app adverts for iphones that have a disclaimer at the bottom saying 'sequence shortened'.

yeah, because in reality, it's a frickin chore to navigate through your phone and the myriad of settings to achive what they show you on telly.

And something else that gets me is hair products or mascara that have the disclaimer that hair extensions were used or lash extensions, in other words you won't look anything like the model in the ads and the product probably doesn't even do what's advertised.

Exactly!! I remember reading once about how long some mascara model (one of the famous faces) needed to sit while each lash was individually brushed and coated and who knows what else.

Now they've just decided to "airbrush it" it seems..

The McD's ad that seems to be under the impression that a 'bob' is a quid. Oh and I'm always amused by the line in the Caneston Duo thrush treatment ad that goes "now you can go back to feeling yourself".

The ones that get me are those for women's cosmetics, usually L'Oreal with its ridiculous made up constituents - Pro-Ceramide A, ffs - and little footnotes that say 'tested on 7 women'. Are their customers really that stupid?

My fave worst one of those was the one that contained 'boswellox', which nicely summed up the claims made for the product.

Or Texaco's "Excellium". The generic word for these things is "madeupotropes".:becool:

What's the yoghurt one? Transportus maximus or something ridiculous.

Bifidus Digestivum? Or something like this.

It sounds like the sketch from Monty Python to me - Incontinentia Buttox?

My worst advert is the flyer put through the letterbox advertising easy loans. With repayment rates at 74% for long term loans, and up to 400% for short term loans. Disgusting reptiles. I looked on their website and they were promoting their "community" activities. Although they didn't list ripping off desperate people as one of them.
