Another London cyclist tipper truck incident this evening

I passed by an accident scene on Dalston Kingsland Road this evening. The ambulance had just left and the police were closing the road. There was a tipper truck with a bicycle underneath, from the angle it looks like a left turning truck The bike didn't look mangled. I hope the rider is ok.

Not another :-( Lets hope the unmangled bike was a sign they are ok. Of all the collisions on the road this is the one that should be publicised the most as it can usually be avoided.

Updates from LFGSS:

Just got a call from my friend in Whitechapel hospital. It's my mate Dan who was hit.

He has a fractured pelvis and punctured lung and is currently in intensive care. they have put him under and he's going for a CT scan.

HIs housemate happened to be riding past and Dan had told police his name before he passed out and his housemate just happened to ask the policemen.

Did anyone see what happened?

Just been to the hospital. Dan is out of surgery and in intensive care. The big group of friends down in AE are now in the big stripy tiger bar on Whitechapel. . Sounds like he is stable. He has a damaged kidney but the CT showed his spine and brain are ok. His bro and mum are going to see him. Hopefully know more in the morning.

Got a text form his mum saying they nearly lost him in the night but he is now showing signs of improvement but he's still very critical.

Thats 2 collsions this week between lorries and cyclists: there was one around the Kennington Oval a few days back.
