Another London thread, exploding roads ?

Anyone pass Tooley st near Tower bridge ? the surface had kind of exploded, I suppose due to water mains splitting or something but it looked like the end bit of Ghostbusters, just needed a Police car sliding into the hole !

I walked past a fireman fiddling with the end of a hose, I saw the pipe fill and missed a dousing and being sent 30 feet back the way I have came by inches as the fireman hadnt managed to secure the pipe end before someone turned on the water.

I read about the lift, sounds scary, in fact just beign a tourist in London is more dangerous than being a cyclist !

Ah - that's why I am working from home today. Our offices are on Tooley Street and I got a call first thing to tell me they are flooded and not to come in. This is the second time in about a year that it has happened.

Another burst water main, so no doubt Tooley Street will be hell again for a few weeks.

My guv'nor just told bout this as she left for a funeral!!! I don't think the two are connected!!!!!

She lives on Tooley st and the residence were all getting up in arms about not being able to get to work!!!!!!

I said to her "No, Stop right there" You people up there in the city do not have the right attitude at all, they all missed a supreme opportunity to go back and watch some more breakfast TV over an extended breakfast!

Fools, fools I say as I pull my hair out!!!!!!!!!

This seems to be the reason why there seems to be many road works around London at the same time.

And we can look forward to another load of temporary patches all over the road - it's in bits as it is. I'm thinking about getting a new commuter bike - the way the roads are I may as well get a full on MTB!
