It did, however, continue quite unfazed. I managed to get a replacement, but when attempting to poke a screwdriver through the remaining lining to see how thin it was, I couldn't!

I saw a Schwalbe display of the tyre in a shop, they'd cut it crossection and the breaker layer is about 5mm at its thickest so plenty of life left in that.

I've seen a similar cross section one with pins in it in my LBS. You've a good 1000 miles left in that yet. Does the blue suit your frame colour

I'm not sure the blue liner has quite the same wear characteristics as the tyre, but it's certainly good to know there's no cause for panic when it shows itself :-)
