Lovely with a seared scallop on top. , Bit 'Cheffy' I know but delicious with Samphire saute'ed in butter.
(not sure if its the scallop or the black pud that's the dish though)
Its amazing how the simple foods have acquired certain names, i grew up in North Wales on the banks of The Dee from a salmon fishing family.
Back in the day we called Samphire, Sampkin and we still do.
