Well that just changes my whole opinion of him!!!

Arch said:a) He's not the Lord of Time. He's a Time Lord. He doesn't control time, he can merely travel through it.
He can stop something happening if he's there. He can't cherry pick and go back to stop specific things. If he hadn't been on that Titanic, it'd have hit Earth. Anyway, the Tardis navigation system is pretty ropey by now, and he rarely ends up exactly where and when he wants to be.
marinyork said:How would you know the difference if someone was picked up or not unless they declared it? Physics is based on observers in their frames of reference e.g. if you were living in a world where time ran at a tenth of the speed you wouldn't notice. In a similar sort of way if someone came along and picked someone up and changed some event how would you notice the difference?
Kovu said:1.) Okay granted the first point, but what would you classify as "controlling time"?
2.) Yeah but I'm sure in recent times, DT turned and asked Tate where she wanted to go, and then listed loads of things. And when he was with Tate in the libary, he meant to go to the libary, so he can go where he needs.
Arch said:1) well, I think of it as like riding along a road. I can follow it, I can turn off, maybe turn back, but I can't alter where the road goes.
2) I think it works when it suits the plot, unlike the completely bust Chameleon circuit. And it is all just a story you know. Even I recognise that....NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
*dissappears in puff of self-referential logic*

Speicher said:I thought that with regard to continuum relativity, you could not travel further back in time than when the time-travel machine (in which you are travelling) was invented.
This means that "we" could not travel to the present.![]()
