I've been looking togetting a 360 camera for my helmet and can find plenty of reviews of features and image resolution etc. (The 360xl and go prohero seem to be the best at the moment)

But I'm curious to know if all cameras are made equal if I got knocked off, I'd prefer it if £200 - 300 could survive a collision rather than having to fork out for another one.

Before mounting anything to a helmet, I suggest having a read about how Michael Schumacher is the way he is.

I'm fully aware everything, including the helmet, may get completely wrecked. A few years back my dad was knocked over by a dozey suv driver and his helmet was completely smashed rather than his skull.

But I'd like whatever I drop money on to have a fighting chance wherever it may be placed

No, they are not all equal for crash survival. At that price, look for a camera with a separate, reinforced case. The camera itself is fragile, but a good case is what saves it. GoPro's durability is proven, but a 360 camera in a strong mount is your best bet.

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
Check the instructions that came with your helmet. It will include a warning: Do not attach anything.
