Hoping to ride up the Severn Vale one day this week using lanes through Littleton Berkley Slimbridge etc.

Wondered if anyone local knows if the lanes are all open after the weather we have had.

Have looked on the BBC Gloucester traffic website which doesn't mention anything.

I think the heaviest rain was yesterday, so any flooding should go down now. But I don't know (and can't go for a ride myself this week to look!). Not being reported on BBC Gloucester probably doesn't mean much as they are all very minor roads.

I will say, though, that if you do run into a problem, the A38 isn't too bad a route. Not as pretty as the lanes, but being parallel to the M5 most of the traffic is on the motorway and, while it is a fast road, almost all the way from Almondsbury to the outskirts of Gloucester it is wide enough to make it very easy for traffic to give you a wide berth. (Apologies if you know all this already!)

Thanks for the advice Spinney.

Rode the lanes route today and didn't encounter any flooding. The River Severn was almost up to road level in places but not quite luckily.
