Enfield motorbikes are still going but moved to India . I rebuilt a 1954 bullet 350 with new parts from them and they are all the same . I gave all the info over when i sold the bike so cant help with contacts but i hope this is of some help to you .
From memory the whole Enfield business moved to India so you could be lucky .

@GarryG looks nice and clean , easiest way to date the bike , will be look at rear hub and there should be a date code on there ie 10 63 making it 10th month in 1963 and a similar code marking on the caliper castings and fr hub .

have fun

Hi guys,

a moment of madness has just seen me purchase a project to tinker with over the coming months.

Any ideas on age? I was thinking 60's?

Garry
Looks 60's to me as well, not in bad nick either. biggs682 is right about the dating on the rear hub and they're normally pretty on with the frame age.
At least the brakes look like they could cope with 700c rims so you could get ally rims laced to those hubs unless you really want to revisit wet steel rim braking (best laxative known to Mankind), Good luck with the project, keep us up to date on what you decide to do.

Congrats Garry, can't be bad for £5.50! You should be able to find most of the bits you need here without resorting to India. Looks in nice condition. You've even got the stuff to rebuild the wheels which will probably be all it needs. Good luck.

Just to be different I'm going with 1970s. Couple of reasons are

1. Spoke count. If I counted correctly they have a 36f 36 r setup which was more usual in the 70s.

2. Sturmey gear lever has black plastic on which is a definite 70s introduction (see link below).

Now these items may have been replaced so the original bike may be older.

looks like Tony got it right, the hub dates back to April '78, I also have a frame number, are there any sites to check it on.
