That Elswick looks tidy, though that's not the original chainset. I'd guess late 70's, maybe 1980 as well. Check some of the components such as brake callers for possible date codes if you're interested.

Yea I've googled pics and looks like it would have had different gears. Actually has 7. And they all work now. Done about 500km on it in last couple weeks. Can honestly say it's best bike I've ridden!!

Think mine is a Fausto Coppi Gotti , Think ....... rides lovely though . I have a boardman but I think this feels better to ride

Had new modern sealed bottom bracket fitted, and rear hub rebuilt. Fitted some schwalbe Lugano tyres and cheap shimano spd pedals. What a bike :smile: . It rides like new. still use the coppi if we are heading for some hills, as the elswicks gears are a bit high, but using it daily at moment in all this nasty weather
