All other functions work such as grill/oven etc. Thus far I’ve tested everything and all seems ok, obviously it’s not !! However on closer inspection of the magnetron , I’m not so sure this is what it should look like!! Looks fried to me albeit no shorts to earth!!

HV capacitor is fine and the Hv diode swapped out as well. New magnetron is £65 from AEG, which is reasonable enough to repair and put back into service , assuming it’s gubbed !!
 
Do you know what you're doing? There's some fairly hefty capacitors in a microwave which need discharging.

We have several semi commercial microwaves at work and a couple of them had the magnetron go., there was a continuous buzzing from them. Contractor replaced the magnetron and away they went, no problem.

Yep think I will have to bite the bullet, new combo oven is gonna cost £400-500. Just wondering if the picture is sure sign it’s gubbed !
