Sounds like the same evening but I may not have had the Mille by then (could have been my Zx6 or even my SV650, timing is all a bit vague these days). If I remember correctly Steve (OMA?) was on a zx6?

I had a Thundercat for 17 years and in that time I rode it all over and it had only one issue - a failed spark plug cap. Fantastic, underrated bike. Oh, it’s a 600, not a 650. 😉

I had a CBR600F for quite a few years, lovely thing. But the Blade was just so much better, so it didn’t get much use.

Yes, he was OnMyArse, and a zx6 sounds right, though I'd not swear to it. I did quite a few track days with OMA. Have you looked at the new RS? Some familar names still there. Back then, quite a few of RS had SV650s (as I did). A yellow one. Hence my (still) forum name.

Small world this Internet though
'tis. Still can't place you though. ;) Not that I'm asking, in all seriousness. I just can't for the life of me recall any of the other RS crew being there that night. Not even Hammy, and he'd have normally been a starter for Brands.

A ha! Hello, great to make acquaintance again! Ought have been obvious to me, given I couldn't recall who else might have been there. I didn't know you had an SV, so maybe you were on the zx that evening. You were into MZ racing (was it MZ?) too, I presume that's the racing you continued on with.

You know, I often recall something you once said to me (and maybe Steve) - that you preferred riding b roads as you weren't so much into speed but the more technical riding that such roads required (narrower, twistier) I guess because you might only be doing 40 or 50 but it required concentration and awareness. Anyways, nice to catch up again, even if only via the web.
