This Ebay ad struck me as very dodgy.

That's easily side stepped as many don't keep receipts or it may have been bought second hand.

Personally I still ask for a receipt (and I keep mine, or have got a copy from retailer when I came to sell and didn’t have one). I’ve not bought a bike second hand without one, nor sold a bike on without. I also ask for a signed document and provide one myself. Genuine sellers and buyers have not had an issue

Definitely looks suspect. The seller has zero feedback too.
I recently sold a friends Trek eMTB on eBay, although the bike was pretty new he hadn’t kept the receipt, JE James kindly emailed a copy so obtaining proof of purchase shouldn’t be a problem.
