Wimped out of parkrun this morning due to torrential rain and high winds. One section of the course hugs the coast and with a south wester blowing it can get a bit wild. This / Next year should see my 250th parkrun, and 250th volunteer role, be good to do them both simultaneously.

You want to try it down the back of the field with us oldies getting lapped 😟

A few years back we were visiting our daughter in Leeds. We went to parkrun and because of the snow / ice the backup course was used which was on grass instead of paths. As I was struggling uphill towards the finish I was overtaken by a very heavily pregnant lady and remember thinking to myself " is that one or two places I've lost " 🤔

One year in Leeds too I was beaten by a dozen Santas! That hurt too!!!

Everyone at my parkrun last week was 'chicked'. First time a woman has finished first there with a 17 something. Faaaaaaast !!
Don't think I ever caught a glimpse of her !

Ran a steady 5K this morning in between the showers ☔, lots of rain here recently ( Bristol ) and the River Frome is certainly getting full !

Took part in the Tough Runner UK Falkirk Epic 10k today. Was a trail run, with very little flat, and very muddy. Thank goodness I selected my trail shoes as road or trail was advised by the organisers, dependent on the weather. There was a couple of fallers, that I saw, in the really muddy sections.

Though it was described as a 10k the course was in fact 10.6k. Tough event and I’m pleased with my time of just over 50 minutes. In the top 10 for my age group (out if 29).

A lot of people were beaten at my local parkrun one Christmas by Dobbin the pantomime horse. 😂

Hi all,
I've done running as my main physical activity most of my life. Now trying to combine with cycling and finding the bike actually tougher than running!!
Other runners felt the same?
