Don't knock it. Kittens make great bonsai projects. Because the bones are really subtle, when they grow they do so into the shape of the jar. Square jars are the best.

I used to do Bonsia. Until her Dad found out.
My tree, Chinese Elm, died this week. Lack of water I think; it went dormant in winter, so I watered as needed around every 2 weeks it seemed, now it needs watering every day and I have been neglectful (I do have 15 house plants all alive and tended to!)
That said, I have never been overly happy with it's appearance and I received it with barely any branches/leaves. I shouldn't admit I have only had it since May 2016, so I've effectively killed it in just over 1 year.
