Anyone drive a Toyota C-HR HYBRID ?

I suppose that much as I love Toyota's approach, i am far from an admirer of their new design architecture.

Put simply, it's hideous!

I don't like the look of it either, but it's hers, not mine
I did try & talk her into a Skoda Superb estate instead (or if still hybrid, the Auris estate)

It does seemingly have a teas-maid!!

The regenerative braking is (presumably) more that the traction motor generates, as there's not the retardation that I'd expect, so like any automatic there's still a reliance on the discs
There's only 'Drive', Reverse, no other gear positions (1st/2nd, etc...) and 'B', which is supposed to be for descending steep hills

The big (8"?) touchscreen isn't as obtrusive as I'd thought it might be

In the back though, it's a different story; (silly - to me) 'privacy' glass, black leather, black head-lining, the reducing headroom, the weirdly shaped doors/windows make it claustrophobic (& I'm not)
The Auris we get as a courtesy car, when the Octavia's being serviced is far nicer in that aspect (even allowing for the 'vinyl wrap')

NB;

I've had this, from my Octavia

So did the Aleggro and Maestro though they got European car of the year:banghead:
Ahhh the good old Aleggro.
I once joined a company with the promise of a company car....Ford Cortina. On the first day they presented me with an Aleggro in a sh*t brown colour.. I said goodbye and turned to walk out the door.
Next day I had the promised Cortina.

I nearly brought a Lexus CT200h and the company car guy who appeared to know his stuff said it was all Toyota running gear, same as the Prius and reliable as clockwork, change the oil...and that was it really.
Can't imagine why I didn't buy it really.

I know.......another car question .
Our circumstances have changed and we no longer need 2 cars.
We are thinking (and its early days) of trading both in for a slightly new one.
A bit early to arrange a test drive.
Read just one report and that was very mixed.
Just wondering if any CCrs have one.
Had one recently for a few days as a hire car. Absolutely horrid! Made @Hill Wimp feel sick the way it rolled and pitched about.
Poor space particularly in the boot and not particularly frugal. My Dacia diesel does better. Stupid big tv screen, poor visibility.
Avoid.

It's a vomit inducing machine as far as I am concerned and that's just my opinion as a passenger let alone what it looks like.

Strange that, my friend was loaned a Tesla & his wife had real difficulties, every time they went out in it she felt sick, we joked it was the way he was driving but they both said he took it real steady & it was no different.

Because an apocalyptically bad car (no, it really was, promise!)

Wife has one, the 'Dynamic' model
Apparantly, though 'revamped'/updated

From looking at them previously. I'm glad to see that the silly blue line has gone from inside

Dynamic has full LED exterior lighting (inc, headlights), 'sequential front indicators'

So, for (month old vehicel?), she's seeing average of 73MPG
This is from someone, who could get an average of 42MPG from my Octavia estate (1.6Tdi, remapped), whereas I can see 55MPG average

Reply properly later

Any questions, I'll try to answer

Sorry to go off topic, I am looking at the Octavia did the remap make a difference, or should I keep looking for the 2 litre.

YES!!!
More 'flexible', as there's comparatively more torque at lower RPM
It also 'feels' perkier, as the revs seem to build quicker (no 'performance' air filter, as far as I know, just a new one, when mapped)
Again, 'feels' as though it will rev higher (rarely go above 3000, anyway, unless 'engine braking')

Seemingly no difference in economy

It passed MoT test in July, with no mention/advisory, about emissions
(EGR was previously removed)

If you are brutal with it, experiment only, not my regular style!, it will spin a wheel even on the change up to 3rd!! (damp road)
Granted the tyres are worn, but still on 2mm+

Evergreen, (front pair) as a manufacturer, & presently on 40,000miles +

The printout I was given
KN11 RPZ. Remap,.JPG

Theoretically it's the same as the 2.0Tdi (150BHP)

Without seeing figures throughout the rev range, I doubt it's the same as the XKR we had
That generated more torque by 1500RPM, than the (naturally aspirated) XK8 did at its peak!

Would I recommend it to you?
Yes

I got my recall letter, but didn't go, as it would doubtless have overwritten the remap
(recall, due to the VW emissions/MPG scandal)

Sorry to go off topic, but let's hope they don't spot the EGR removal as that a an MOT failure now (I'm guessing it's likely hidden under the engine acoustic cover on many modern motors). Its MOT manual test item 8.2.1.1.
