Anyone else had enough of winter?

Nah, not me. :becool: And I've still got two months of it left. :sun::sun:

But spring, summer and autumn will be crap. :rain::cold:

I have had enough of the rain that's for sure. We haven't had the snow and ice but enough wet stuff to sail off in. Mind you the local reservoir has just applied to pump from two of the rivers as it's dangerously low so perhaps not as much as I thought.

Thankfully it's been mild here and the days are becoming light for longer which I notice clearly on my commute.

Sunday was a really gorgeous day. All day sunshine, mild and not a breath of wind.

Carbon fibre... LMAO!!!
This is the first winter since buying my bike 6 years ago that it's been kept indoors out of the cold.
I miss my cycling, but when I'm out walking the mutt and I see some poor bugger slogging the granny ring in golf ball sized hail, I don't miss it that much.
Roll on summer.

Well my 7.20 am commute is a little lighter..i hate going to work when its dark..and coming home .
I dont have to be outside much anymore and hardly ever when its inclement.

Nice bright frosty starts are lovely.
Cycling to work in the next week or so.
Unless winter really bites

Yes I'd had enough by Christmas. Days on end when it's cold and wet is really quite depressing.

I enjoy the winter for various reasons.

I like to see the seasonal changes in plant structures, the architecture of them if you like. The birds visit the feeders and start to scout out nesting options. The wood burner gets sparked up and there's nowt finer than settling down with a good book in front of it.

I went for a walk in the Peak District last week on public paths through a couple of farms and the fields, the 6 mile or so route taking me past the Monsal Head pub. For anyone who knows it, this spot is teeming in summer because of having a car park and magnificent views over the Monsal Head viaduct. On my 6 mile walk I saw not a single person. Not one on the whole walk (except in cars when the route went near a road). I felt I had the entire place to myself. Today it is sleeting and snowing - and I'll be back out there later this morning, fully winter kitted, and I'll just enjoy the solitude and sound of the wildlife.

I like winter...

Normally I don't mind winter. I love snow and cold bright crisp sunny days. But this year it does seem to have been particularly dull.

Similar sentiments here too. I'm normally fine with winter, but this time by mid December I'd had enough  Too many cold frosty/icy days keeping me from riding & really looking forward to a nice warm spring ride in shorts  On the plus side though, because of the crap weather I'm getting my money's worth out of Zwift ^_^

I always ride through the winter, but I do it for fun not commuting.
Until physio allows I'm still at 10 mile range, but that's enough to get towards Dunford Bridge and see the scenery, the mist in the valleys, and just be out - and hopefully ride in snow. I'm the muppet that rides to Winscar Reservoir in a blizzard where there's usually one family with a dog and someone trying to do handbrake turns in his egotank.
We're fortunate to live in this wonderful place that changes it's entire environment throughout the year, with it's own challenges and rewards. It's ace.

I got talking to a weirdo the other day who "embraces" winter and hates summer! The day was grey and totally miserable but he seemed so happy about it. I like most, dislike winter and do look forward to the lighter nights and warmer days, but i don't wish my life away as i used to do.
