Just wondering how many of you go fishing...

I love going fishing, especially fly fishing for trout. If it's a decent size fish, it'll become dinner. If not, it's catch and release.

Not easy to find the time to go fishing, to be honest, what with family commitments and fishing pretty much an all-day activity.

I just find it very relaxing and a bit of escapism. Good for the soul, like.

Anyone else go fishing?

never found fishing fun, other than when i was 7 and my dad and his mate went fishing off the victoria (australia) coast. sitting in the pissing rain by the canal never quite matched up to that.

cycling's my escape from the family man time, i couldn't manage two hobbies…

I was well into beach fishing B.C. (before children).

I fished most beaches between Dover and Seaford. Apart from the usual Mackerel, Whiting, etc I caught a few decent sized Bass. Still, even when I wasn't catching anything it was still better sitting on a beach than vegging out in front of the telly getting fat.

The rods and reels are sitting in the garage waiting for the kids to get a bit older and for the wife to let them loose on a beach when the weather's not just blazing sunshine.

I'd love to try fly fishing sometime. It sounds more skillful than chucking out a hook with a bit of food on it.

That's why I was better at drowning worms. Dad tried to teach me but I struggled with it, I did catch a nice trout once and then stuck the fly in the back of my head with the next cast.

I've just checked and fankle is a real word. Plenty of that going on.

Fish are ace. Love em.

I like a bit of fishing; game, sea and coarse.
I quite like fly fishing but find it a little too artificial on resovoirs etc so coarse is my favourite. Well, sea game fishing in tropical seas is actually my favourite, but I don't get to do it very often!

Had a Chub of just over 5lbs from the Avon yesterday, a new PB for me :becool:

Oh yes! I fish off a small boat in Cornwall when I can, usually rowing it. It is good for the soul. We eat them if we are lucky, and if nothing is caught, it doesn't bother me at all. Big fun, whatever happens.

Tight lines.

I love a bit of cycle fishing. I've got a telescopic fly rod that can be strapped to my saddle bag, which means that I can go for a ride and stop at any likely looking spot for a wee cast.
