A lot of cyclists join clubs....not me, never been a clubbie and probably never will be.

A lot of cyclists have buddies who they go out with....not me, I've been riding alone for the whole of my cycling life.

And I think every cyclist has the obligatory cafe stop during their rides, at least on longer rides....not me. I can safely say I have never stopped for refreshments at any cafe on any journey in all the years I've been cycling. I might pop into a garage for top ups but that's it.

A lot of cyclists do this Zwift thing, it seems to be quite the craze....not me.

However, I may be turning the corner. Today I downloaded Strava for the very first time and went out on a very short "tester" ride. I've never done anything like that in all my years. I just have a basic cycling computer.

Most cyclists, if not all cyclists, do normal cyclist stuff, nothing wrong with that. There are lots of things I haven't done but you don't miss what you've never had, right?

I was wondering if there were any other funny cookies out there who, like me, just do your own thing.

I do occasionally cycle with a friend, and I do like to visit cafes, but otherwise I'm a happy solitary cyclist.

Welcome!

I know a lot of folk who don't do clubs but they all do pubs and cafes ^_^

Another solo cyclists here, never been in a club. Prefer riding alone, I can only think of two or three times I've ridden with anyone else. Not interested in racing or competitions. I will stop at cafe's if I see one but I don't always spot them as I wizz by. I use a bike computer but don't do strava. Your not alone.

There’s running and cycling groups where I live but I have no interest. Being an introvert and totally happy with my own company I have no desire to join group rides or runs. For all the distance I do these days having a drink and snack with me is usually adequate without having a stop.

I used Zwift for a while on the Wattbike, but I’m already getting bored with it as I hate indoor exercise. I do use Strava but have it set up without following or being followed now and just use it to log my rides, runs and walks for my own amusement and fitness stats.

Rain magnet.
Not a club rider; I like to stop when I want, go at my own pace, change the route on a whim, abandon if it rains, - basically suit myself. Occasionally I will go out with a cycle buddy or 2, but not often.
Strava - I gave that up years ago when they took away the useful stuff unless you paid a subscription. Garmin Connect is good enough for me.
Zwift - that's not cycling, it's a fitness aid.
Cafés and pubs - yes I will stop at them as and when I want.

Clubs are what they have in ‘Ibeefa’. Riding mates just make getting out more complicated. Cafes aren’t open at the times I ride. Zwift is just a type of indoor keep fit.

For me I hit start on Strava, turn on the music and go ride in the elements for a while.

If that makes me weird - so be it 😉
