Not me, I'm starting to love the way they alert peds, even Joe Clueless with his MP3 player.

Nobbly tyres for a CX club ride tomorrow morning. Weather appears mild enough. In fact i don't use mudguards on the CX so i will likely get very muddy!! Good to mix it up. Road riding all the time, in winter, would be enough to dishearten even the keenest of riders.

As Sheryl Crow sang...... "A change will do you good".

Haven't used any yet, only wimped out last Thursday. Didn't fancy riding home in -6 at 10pm, and had shopping to do before work anyhow. In the end it was fine for the ride from Rochdale to Todmorden. "Ower't'tops" may well be a different matter though, I don't know where you're working now Brommie, but I know it's probably a more difficult ride than mine. Incidentally, part of the shopping was to get bits to make some spiked tyres for the road bike, I'll do a thread when I've got them done. I have 200 10mmx2.5mm screws, two old but servicable tyres, two rolls of tyre liner and some borrowed bolt cutters to shorten the screws where necessary.

Same places, bury and over Britannia to Rochdale. I remember when I just used to use the Brompton, but nearly ended up under a wagon in Rochdale on a roundabout. It was scary and I decided to use spikes from then on. But they are heavy noisy and slow.
