Anyone ever used Cillit Bang Power Cleaner to degrease their chainset?

Instead of, for example, Muc Off?

Is there any compelling reason why I shouldn't, other than Barry bloody Scott?

Just car shampoo in hot water for me, applied with a floor hand brush. It's amazing to see how much grey gunk dribbles out of the chain and how clean and shiny the chain looks afterwards. Then I dry it with a microfibre cloth and lube later.

Love this sketch.

Serafinowicz (definitely had to look this up) should do more TV.

I use cheap Lidl kitchen degreaser (cilit bang fake)

I also use it on my motorbikes as well. Does a good job on the chainset and cassette

You never really want to remove grease or oil from the inside.

A few of us went to Woburn Sands with the mtb's.
One of the group had coated his chain in a thick LM grease..
He thought it would keep the sand off the chain
The noise from his drivetrain was quite interesting:eek:
