and 2CV's, there is a tipping point, when suddenly more people want them than vehicles are left, prices go crazy. One minute I was thinking about buying a 2CV, next they were way out of reach

Check this out then - and only 74p delivery!!

Yes what went wrong they only produce boring Euroboxes now

Admittedly I've not driven a very modern citroen, but I've driven an old 205 which was nice to drive, albeit a bit rattly and plasticy, then I saw it had done 300,000 miles, so a few loose bits of trim are forgivable for a cheapish car. My ex Mrs had a 306 diesel estate, which again was great to drive and a very good car. OK, neither are particularly pretty, and certainly not a DS nor traction avant, but well made, and nice to drive - and some quite expensive posh modern cars aren't particularly nice to drive - a similar vintage (then brand new) BMW 3 series was horrid to drive, despite them puffing the driving experience as part of the sales flim-flam.

Never driven a DS, but a mate's got one - must get a lift in it at some point
