Had good intentions this morning. Thought I would put the bins out first. The wind blew all of the recycling rubbish down the end of the garden, and I nearly froze to death collecting it all. Not for me I'm afraid, I am a Southern France wuss btw!!!

Mate and I saw lots of folk out on our 40k loop round Stamfordham. Everything started well, but then we turned left and into the wind which was tortuous. Thank feck it was behind us as we went up the Ryals. I reckon we'd have had to pedal down them!

Good to be back out properly after an injury hit and mechanically disastrous year. I have high hopes for 2015 now.

I chucked all my kit straight in the washing machine in the kitchen when I got home. Mrs RM was making soup at the time and commented she was pleased that we had been intimate before I set off!

I might very well have passed you this morning. Been up round Stamfordham, Matfen, Corbridge , Hexham and back along to home (Blaydon) 42 mile
Wind was a pain heading from Matfen to Corbridge but all in all it wasn't too bad. Saw little bits of snow up there as well.

Yeah we clocked the snow, not much really but I expect more! Considering the forecast, it was actually alright.

If you saw a thin chap on a flat bar Boardman followed by a slightly less thin chap on a Kona, that was us, me bringing up the rear and probably looking quite angry!

I had that much muck on my shades that I could hardly see anything! There was a few out this morning though.

I did it! 25 miles through some grubby lanes. I even saw someone else with a Turbomatic saddle and downtube shifters! The weather was a bit odd. Too hot for the wooly hat but a bit cold on the ears for the cap. Wind was evil though!

Gave the Helium it's first outing today for a 74k ride, bit chilly at first but not too bad once I got going and it warmed up a bit later;still having a few issues with the hrm but might have it sorted now.

It wasn't particularly cold at all here (Sheffield). The headwind though.....horrible, and we had it for over 20 miles of a 30 mile ride. Not only did it feel hard, it obviously was as I didn't get a single achievement on Strava over the whole ride, not even a 3rd.

Added a loop onto my ride today and wish I had not, snapped chain 10 miles from home. Wife not answering her phone, youngest ditto, eldest to the rescue. Bit of a chilly wait, now I have got to go on the turbo to finish the ride, need larger bag that I can fit a spare link and extractor in. Only the second time in 45 years of cycling, so not a regular occurrence.

I was planning on going a walk instead of a ride but i had to go to the shop half a mile away so i had to get the bike out anyway. I set off when the rain stopped but it didn't take long for it to return. 17.5 soaked miles though it wasn't too cold so not too bad! The bike was manky after the ride though, the brake pads were well mashed up black water everywhere!

I got just over 17 miles in . Too hot for a buff on the head and the base layer I had on . Serves me right for testing the waters in the morning and then falling asleep
