Cycling Active has a 2013 bike on long term test and the girl who has been using it absolutely adores it. In this months mag she tries a 2014 model and remarks that she found it longer in the reach area. This confuses me because in size 54 for example, the 2013 has 540mm top tube whereas on the 2014 bike its 542mm and I think there are subtle changes on seattube and head tube angles between the bikes with ( I think ) the 2013 being slightly slacker in the seattube.
From what ive read the 2013 appears to be totally sportive/endurance focussed whereas the 2014 appears to be more racing orientated. If this is the case I think the 2013 should be the one more suited to me personally.
Has anyone ridden the same size synapse in both years and could comment ?
